AI steps in to read your X-Rays: a new hope for thumb arthritis diagnosis

NCT ID NCT07148349

Summary

This study aims to develop and test artificial intelligence (AI) tools to help doctors better assess and monitor thumb arthritis. Researchers will use existing X-ray and CT scan images from up to 2500 patients to train the AI. The goal is to create automated systems that can classify the severity of arthritis, detect if a thumb joint implant is loosening, and create 3D models from standard X-rays to aid in treatment planning.
