AI eye doctor: software tested to spot diabetic vision problems

NCT ID NCT07404657

Summary

This study is testing new AI software designed to automatically analyze photographs of the back of the eye (retina) to help detect diabetic retinopathy, a vision-threatening complication of diabetes. The software's ability to identify more-than-mild disease will be compared to evaluations by human eye specialists. The goal is to see if this automated tool can be a safe and effective aid in screening programs for adults with diabetes.
