First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated Apr 16, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study is testing whether an artificial intelligence (AI) system can help doctors better manage IV fluids during major abdominal surgery. The AI system analyzes patient data and suggests when to give fluid boluses, aiming to keep patients in an optimal state. The goal is to see if this personalized, computer-assisted approach reduces serious complications like heart, kidney, or infection problems in the month after surgery for 2000 high-risk patients.
