Hospitals test AI 'Crystal Ball' to stop patient falls before they happen

NCT ID NCT07000981

Summary

This study tested a new computer system that uses a camera and artificial intelligence (AI) to predict if a hospital patient is at risk of falling. Researchers had 177 patients walk down a hallway while being recorded. The AI analyzed their walking patterns to see if it could spot signs of fall risk more accurately and quickly than the standard paper checklist nurses use. The goal is to create a tool that helps keep patients safer by spotting fall risks in real time.
