NCT ID NCT07378956
First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tests whether an AI software can help doctors better detect diabetic retinopathy, an eye disease caused by diabetes that can lead to blindness. About 340 adults with type 2 diabetes who have not been previously diagnosed with the condition will be randomly assigned to receive either standard care or standard care plus the AI analysis of their eye images. The goal is to see if the AI tool leads to more accurate referrals to eye specialists and earlier diagnosis.
