First seen Feb 11, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tests a software that uses artificial intelligence to check eye photos for signs of diabetic retinopathy, a common diabetes complication. About 198 adults with diabetes will have their retinal images analyzed by the AI and by human experts to see how well the tool works. The goal is to find out if the AI can reliably detect more than mild disease, which could make screening faster and easier.
