First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study will develop an AI system that looks at CT scans to tell whether a spine fracture in older adults is new (acute) or old (chronic). Knowing this helps doctors choose the right treatment. The researchers will collect data from 276 patients aged 50 and older and train a deep learning model to make the distinction automatically.
