Can a simple chat about AI calm your nerves before surgery?
NCT ID NCT07393945
Summary
This study tested whether a simple, clear explanation about how artificial intelligence (AI) helps with medical imaging could reduce anxiety and increase feelings of control in patients waiting for elective surgery. Researchers randomly assigned 60 adult patients to either receive standard pre-surgery information or standard information plus a brief, plain-language talk about AI imaging systems. The goal was to see if better communication about new technology could help patients feel more prepared and less anxious before their operation.
