AI assistant for colonoscopies shows doctors more polyps

NCT ID NCT05322993

Summary

This study tested whether a computer program using artificial intelligence (AI) could help doctors spot more growths called polyps during colonoscopy exams. Over 5,000 patients had their colonoscopies performed by doctors using the AI tool. Researchers wanted to see if the AI improved detection rates and if doctors' skills improved even after they stopped using the AI.
