Is your Dentist's AI biased? major study investigates
NCT ID NCT07162753
Summary
This study is checking whether a computer program (AI) that helps diagnose jaw and bite alignment problems works equally well for people from different racial and ethnic backgrounds. Researchers are testing the AI on photos and X-rays from 5000 people, comparing its accuracy for Turkish patients and a diverse group from Belgium. The goal is to ensure such AI tools are fair and reliable for everyone before they are widely used in dental clinics.
