Smartphone app could be a Game-Changer for diagnosing Kids' ear infections

NCT ID NCT06876259

Summary

This study is testing whether an artificial intelligence (AI) app can help doctors more accurately diagnose ear infections in young children. Researchers will take photos of the eardrums of 300 children aged 6-24 months who have cold symptoms. They will compare how often the AI app and the doctor diagnose an infection and prescribe antibiotics. The goal is to see if the technology can improve accuracy and reduce unnecessary antibiotic use.
