AI steps in to map safer airway for throat cancer patients

NCT ID NCT07324317

Summary

This study is testing a new computer algorithm designed to help plan a safer path for placing a breathing tube in patients with throat (laryngeal) cancer. The tool analyzes a patient's CT scan before surgery to predict the best route. Researchers will compare the computer's prediction to the actual path taken during the patient's awake intubation procedure to see how well they match.
