First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tested whether giving more IV fluids (lactated Ringer's solution) during and after an ERCP procedure can prevent pancreatitis, a common complication. 126 adults having their first ERCP were randomly assigned to receive either standard or aggressive hydration. The goal was to see if the aggressive approach reduces the risk of post-procedure pancreatitis.
