New hope for rare uterine cancer: targeted drug shows promise in trial

Summary

This study tests a drug called afatinib in people with a rare and aggressive uterine cancer (HER2-positive uterine serous carcinoma) that has come back or not gone away. The goal is to see if the drug can stop the cancer from growing for at least 6 months. About 50 participants will take afatinib pills daily, and researchers will monitor tumor response and side effects.
