Heart rhythm showdown: which procedure keeps seniors out of the hospital?

NCT ID NCT04906668

Summary

This study compares two established procedures for managing persistent atrial fibrillation (AF) in patients aged 75 and older. It tests whether a pacemaker implantation combined with a minor ablation (ABLATE) or a more extensive ablation (PVI) is better at reducing hospital stays and improving quality of life. The goal is to find the most effective long-term control strategy for this common heart rhythm problem in elderly patients.
