Summary

This study tested if adding an oral chemotherapy drug called capecitabine after standard chemoradiation treatment could better control advanced nasopharyngeal cancer and prevent it from spreading to other parts of the body. It involved 294 adults with this type of throat cancer who were at high risk of the cancer spreading. The goal was to find a more effective treatment plan with manageable side effects.
