Coaching helps latino cancer patients plan for difficult medical conversations
NCT ID NCT04889144
Summary
This study tested whether a coaching program helps Latino cancer patients better understand and prepare for advance care planning—discussing the medical care they would want if they became too sick to speak for themselves. Researchers worked with 27 Latino patients who had advanced cancer, comparing those who received three coaching sessions to those who received usual care. The goal was to see if coaching improved patients' knowledge, motivation, and ability to have these important conversations with family and doctors.
