Adult PKU patients studied for brain health and life quality
NCT ID NCT01619722
First seen May 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study looked at 220 adults with phenylketonuria (PKU), a rare genetic condition that requires a special diet from birth. Researchers wanted to see if adults with PKU experience mental decline or other brain problems, and how the disease affects their daily life and social integration. No new treatments were tested; instead, the goal was to gather information to improve future care.
