Scientists probe mysteries of adrenal tumors in major study
NCT ID NCT00005927
Summary
This study aimed to understand how and why tumors form in the adrenal glands, which sit on top of the kidneys. Researchers enrolled 690 people, aged 3 to 70, with known or suspected adrenal tumors to learn why some tumors produce hormones and others don't, and why some are benign while others are cancerous. The main goal was to gather knowledge through tests, tissue samples, and genetic analysis to improve future diagnosis and treatment, not to test a new therapy.
