Heart surgery mystery: could a tiny gland cause dangerous blood pressure drops?

NCT ID NCT06371976

Summary

This study aims to understand if a dangerous drop in blood pressure after heart surgery is linked to poor function of the adrenal glands, which produce stress hormones. Researchers will enroll 200 patients undergoing heart surgery and use a detailed blood test to map their hormone levels. The goal is to gather new knowledge that could one day lead to better treatments for this serious complication.
