First seen Jan 19, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study looked at whether giving radiation therapy after surgery can reduce the chance of cancer returning in people with early-stage oral cancer. It included 392 patients whose tumors were at least 5mm thick. Half received radiation after surgery, and half were simply watched. The goal was to see if radiation improves the time without cancer coming back in the mouth or neck.
