New study aims to make prosthetic sockets last longer for veterans
NCT ID NCT07397169
First seen Feb 17, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study looks at whether adjustable prosthetic sockets can help veterans with lower limb amputations maintain a comfortable fit over time. About 25 veterans will use a special adjustable socket for two weeks and then perform activities like walking and sitting while sensors measure pressure inside the socket. The goal is to understand how the socket performs and when adjustments are needed, which could lead to better, longer-lasting prosthetics.
