Scientists scan brains to see how ADHD drugs work in autistic kids

NCT ID NCT06853665

Summary

This 10-week study is testing how well a common ADHD medication (Adderall XR) works for children and teens who have both autism and ADHD. Researchers will use brain scans and symptom checklists to see if the medication improves attention and reduces hyperactivity, and whether it affects autism symptoms. The study will compare the medication to a placebo (inactive pill) and includes a group of typically developing children for comparison.
