First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding lidocaine to the Custodiol solution used during heart bypass surgery can reduce the chance of dangerous heart rhythms (ventricular arrhythmias) after the surgery. About 70 adults having planned coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) will take part. Half will get Custodiol with lidocaine, half without, and doctors will compare how often ventricular fibrillation occurs after the heart is restarted.
