Could a fourth drug beat a tough infection in HIV patients?

NCT ID NCT07585461

First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether adding a fluoroquinolone antibiotic to the usual three-drug treatment helps people with HIV who have a serious infection called disseminated MAC. About 124 adults will be randomly assigned to get either the standard triple therapy or a four-drug regimen for the first 8 weeks. The main goal is to see if symptoms improve faster by day 28, while also checking safety and side effects.
