Lab-Grown lung tumors help scientists test new cancer drugs
NCT ID NCT07610616
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study is testing antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) on tiny lab-grown versions of lung cancer tumors called organoids. The goal is to understand how these drugs kill cancer cells and interact with the immune system. Researchers will study 10 people with HER2- or TROP2-positive non-small cell lung cancer to find the best drug combinations.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) combined with tyrosine kinase inhibitors or immune checkpoint blockers
What this could lead to
If successful, this could help doctors choose the most effective ADC drug combinations for patients with HER2- or TROP2-positive lung cancer.
What could go wrong
This is a very small, early-stage lab study with only 10 participants. Results may not translate to real-world patient outcomes.
