24-Year medical mystery: why do gut blood flow emergencies happen?
NCT ID NCT07274306
Summary
This study looks back at 24 years of medical records to understand a serious condition called acute mesenteric ischemia, where blood flow to the intestines is blocked. Researchers analyzed data from over 2,400 patients in Sweden to learn how often it occurs, what treatments were used, and what factors affect survival. The goal is to gather knowledge that could help improve future care for this dangerous condition.
