Ancient healing techniques put to the temperature test

NCT ID NCT05665426

Summary

This study aimed to understand how two traditional Chinese medicine techniques—acupuncture and moxibustion—affect temperature in the lower back. Researchers tested 140 healthy adults, applying either acupuncture or moxibustion at specific points, then measured back temperature changes with infrared cameras. The goal was to see if these techniques work differently and provide scientific evidence for traditional theories about back pain treatment.
