Needles for brain fog? acupuncture trial targets long COVID's debilitating cognitive symptoms
NCT ID NCT07357688
Summary
This study is testing whether acupuncture can help improve memory, focus, and fatigue in people who developed chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) after having COVID-19. Researchers will enroll 99 adults and randomly assign them to receive real acupuncture, fake acupuncture, or be on a waitlist for 8 weeks. They will use brain scans to see if acupuncture changes brain activity and chemistry, which might explain how it could help with 'brain fog' and other cognitive problems.
