Acupuncture may cut painkiller use after knee surgery
NCT ID NCT04134702
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether adding acupuncture to standard pain treatment can lower pain and the need for painkillers after arthroscopic knee surgery. About 60 adults having knee surgery will take part. Half will get standard pain care plus acupuncture with small needles left in place, and the other half will get standard care only. The goal is to see if acupuncture helps with pain, movement, and side effects.
