Needles for gallbladder pain? study tests ancient technique
NCT ID NCT04960189
Summary
This small pilot study tested whether adding a specific acupuncture treatment (GB34) to standard medical care could help patients with mild acute cholecystitis (gallbladder inflammation). Researchers enrolled 30 hospitalized patients to see if the acupuncture improved pain levels, reduced the need for painkillers, and helped other symptoms and lab tests recover faster. The goal was to see if this complementary approach could support the body's healing during the early phase of treatment.
