First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether acupuncture at specific points (CV24 and P6) can reduce gagging in 60 adults undergoing a transesophageal echocardiogram (a heart ultrasound done through the throat). Participants received either real or placebo acupuncture. The goal was to see if the treatment made the procedure more comfortable and reduced the need for rescue medication.
