Needle vs. pill: can ancient acupuncture ease modern gallbladder pain?

NCT ID NCT07194655

Summary

This study aims to see if acupuncture at a specific point on the leg (Yanglingquan) can relieve the sudden, severe pain of a gallbladder attack (biliary colic) as well as standard drug therapy. Researchers will enroll 248 adults experiencing this pain and randomly assign them to receive either acupuncture or medication. The main goal is to compare how quickly and effectively each treatment reduces pain intensity and other symptoms.
