Needles vs. memory loss: can ancient practice slow Alzheimer's?
NCT ID NCT05078944
Summary
This study tested whether adding acupuncture to standard Alzheimer's medication could help slow the progression of memory and thinking problems better than a fake acupuncture treatment. 160 people with mild Alzheimer's received either real or sham acupuncture three times weekly for 14 weeks while continuing their regular medication. Researchers measured changes in memory tests, daily functioning, and behavior to see if the real acupuncture made a meaningful difference.
