Acupressure may ease nerve pain and boost balance in seniors with diabetes

NCT ID NCT07392619

First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study looks at whether acupressure—a gentle, non-needle pressure technique—can reduce nerve pain, improve balance confidence, and lessen fear of falling in people aged 65 and older with painful diabetic peripheral neuropathy. About 76 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either real acupressure or a placebo version over one month. Researchers will measure changes in symptoms, balance, and quality of life to see if this simple therapy offers meaningful relief.
