Summary

Researchers in Spain are asking whether drinking one bottle of Activia Kefir every day for two weeks changes how people feel about their digestion and overall health. The study will follow 550 adults, including both regular kefir drinkers and newcomers, and will compare their gut bacteria before and after the two-week period. Participants will answer questionnaires about digestive symptoms, stool habits, and general wellbeing, and provide stool samples at home. The goal is to see if real-world kefir consumption is linked to better gut health.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Activia Kefir, a commercialized dairy product, consumed as 280 mL per day for two weeks
What this could lead to
If the study shows benefits, it could support the idea that daily kefir consumption improves digestive comfort and overall wellbeing in everyday life.
What could go wrong
This is an observational, real-world study without a control group, so any perceived benefits may be due to placebo or other factors. Results may not apply to everyone.
