New injection treatment tested for blinding eye inflammation

NCT ID NCT02931175

Summary

This study tested whether injections of ACTH gel could help control non-infectious uveitis, a serious inflammatory eye disease that can lead to blindness. Twenty-eight patients with active or recently active uveitis received injections either two or three times per week for six months, followed by treatment as needed. Researchers measured whether the treatment reduced eye inflammation and improved vision while monitoring for side effects.
