Can talking therapies ease the burden on cancer caregivers?
NCT ID NCT07329868
First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tested two types of talk therapy—acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and cognitive behavioral stress management (CBSM)—against no therapy for 66 caregivers of cancer patients. The goal was to see if these therapies could reduce fear of the cancer coming back, improve quality of life, and lower stress and fatigue. Caregivers attended eight 90-minute sessions over four weeks. The results help show which approach works best for supporting those who care for loved ones with cancer.
