First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This phase 2a trial tests whether a daily pill called ACT-777991 can help return color to the face of adults with non-segmental vitiligo. About 30 participants will take either the drug or a placebo for 24 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in skin color using a standard scoring system.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

ACT-777991 (a daily tablet)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could point toward a new treatment option to restore skin color in people with vitiligo.

What could go wrong

This is an early proof-of-concept trial with only 30 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. It is also compared to a placebo, so the real benefit is still uncertain.
