New heart drug study aims to halt deadly protein buildup

NCT ID NCT07306949

Summary

This study is checking if the drug acoramidis can slow down the progression of a serious heart condition called transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis, where abnormal proteins build up in the heart. It will follow 200 patients who are either newly starting the drug or switching from a similar medication. Researchers will track changes in key blood markers of heart strain and patients' symptoms to see if the treatment is effective.
