Shockwave vs exercise: which works better for achilles pain?
NCT ID NCT05702918
Summary
This study tested whether adding shockwave therapy to a standard exercise program helps people with painful Achilles tendons more than exercise alone. 47 adults with Achilles tendon pain were randomly assigned to either do 12 weeks of exercises plus shockwave treatments, or just the exercises. Researchers tracked their pain levels and tendon health using ultrasound over 26 weeks to see which approach worked better.
