New lens aims to restore natural vision after cataracts

Summary

This study tests a new type of artificial lens (called an accommodating IOL) that may help people see clearly at different distances after cataract surgery. About 85 adults with cataracts in both eyes will receive the lens and be monitored for safety and how well it works. The study is being done in Central America.
