First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study looked back at medical records of 40 people with a rare, serious eye infection called acanthamoeba keratitis. All patients received a special eye drop (0.8 mg/ml polihexanide) as part of a compassionate use program. The goal was to see how many patients were cured, meaning their eye surface healed and inflammation went away without needing surgery.
