Engineered t cells take on Hard-to-Treat prostate cancer
NCT ID NCT07285694
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a new treatment called AB-3028, which uses a patient's own immune cells (T cells) that have been modified in a lab to better attack prostate cancer cells. It is for men with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer, a type that has stopped responding to hormone therapy. The trial will enroll 190 participants to check safety and find the best dose.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
AB-3028 (engineered T cells)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to a new treatment option for men with advanced prostate cancer that has stopped responding to standard therapies.
What could go wrong
This is an early-phase trial (Phase 1/2) with a small number of participants, so the treatment may not prove effective or safe. T cell therapies can cause serious side effects like cytokine release syndrome.
