First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study follows 97 people with X-linked retinitis pigmentosa, a genetic eye disease that causes vision loss, to see if a one-time gene therapy is safe and helps preserve sight over time. Participants received an injection of a modified virus carrying a working copy of the RPGR gene. The study tracks side effects and measures changes in vision, including how well they see in low light.
