Super-Scanner maps hidden hand damage in rare disease

NCT ID NCT04223817

Summary

This study aimed to better understand how scleroderma affects the hands. Researchers used a very powerful 7 Tesla MRI scanner to take detailed pictures of the joints and blood vessels in the hands of 50 people, including those with and without the disease. The goal was to describe the types of damage that occur and see how they relate to other symptoms, not to test a treatment.
