NCT ID NCT07350616

First seen Jan 22, 2026 · Last updated Jun 08, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tests whether a teaching method called '5T Teach-Back' helps patients learn breathing exercises and use a breathing device correctly after abdominal surgery. About 76 adults will be split into two groups: one gets standard instructions, the other uses the teach-back method where they explain the steps back to the nurse. The goal is to see if this approach improves patients' knowledge, lung function, and satisfaction, potentially reducing complications like lung collapse.
