Pill vs. surgery: new hope for carpal tunnel sufferers

NCT ID NCT06294821

Summary

This study is testing whether an existing FDA-approved drug called 4-aminopyridine can effectively treat carpal tunnel syndrome or delay the need for surgery. Researchers will enroll 160 adults with confirmed carpal tunnel who would otherwise undergo surgery. Participants will take the drug twice daily for 6 weeks while researchers track symptom improvement and nerve function over 56 weeks.
