3D printing takes on tooth repair: can it beat milled restorations?
NCT ID NCT07378982
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether 3D-printed ceramic-filled resin overlays work as well as milled composite overlays for fixing badly damaged back teeth that have had root canal treatment. About 32 adults will receive one of the two types of overlays and be followed for 18 months to check for fractures or other issues. The goal is to see if the newer 3D-printing method can offer a more affordable and precise option without sacrificing durability.
