3D printed retainers tested against Old-School wires
NCT ID NCT07552155
First seen Apr 30, 2026 ยท Last updated Apr 30, 2026
Summary
This study looked at 64 people who just finished braces and needed a retainer for their bottom teeth. Half got a 3D printed resin retainer, and half got the usual wire one. Researchers checked how often each type broke or came loose, and how long it took the dentist to put it in. The goal was to see if the newer 3D printed option works as well as the standard retainer.
